Spartans ambush Cowboys for 35-20 victory

ENQUIRER — Turpin's offensive versatility that carried the day for the Spartans as they topped second-ranked Wyoming 35-20. Spartans' senior quarterback Eric Martin was 10-for-15 for 143 yards and two touchdowns and senior running back Will Stocker gained 171 yards and scored a touchdown on 22 carries to lead Turpin.

No. 4 Spartans take on No. 2 Wyoming Friday in battle

It will be a clash of the titans Friday when the No. 4 Turpin Spartans travel to No. 2 Wyoming in a Division II slugfest. Despite cruising to a 24-6 win over Loveland in its season opener, the Spartans dropped a spot in the city polls. Winton Woods (0-1) remained No. 1, Wyoming (1-0) is No. 2, followed by No. 3 Kings (1-0).

OUT OF THE GATE: Spartans down Loveland in opener

Cincinnati Enquirer -- Few players in the city enter this season with as big a task as Turpin little man Will Stocker. Not only will the 5-foot-6, 175-pound senior be the focal point of the program's typically strong ground attack, he's also tasked with replacing Wayne Dunham, the leading rusher in school history.

Are You Ready For Some Football? Spartans are No. 1

The Turpin Spartans football team has been picked by the other FAVC Cardinal Division coaches to win the conference championship in preseason balloting. In addition, the Spartans are ranked 3rd in the Greater Cincinnati Division II-VI poll coming into their first game Thursday night against Loveland in the kickoff to the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown at Mason High School.

Meet Coach Rob Stoll

Coach Stoll is starting his 20th year as a teacher. He is in his 9th year as a social studies teacher at Turpin, and teaches 10th grade U.S. History. He is also in his 9th year as Head Football Coach of the Spartans. He is a graduate of Georgetown College in Kentucky.  He is married and has three children. Coach Stoll enjoys reading and weightlifting.
