Tony Hemmelgarn

Tony Hemmelgarn, Athletic Director

Tony returned as Athletic Director at Turpin in 2018 after serving in the position for 15 years previously (beginning in 1997).  He has an extensive career in Coaching and Athletic Administration where he has coached collegiately and presented on the National, State and local levels.  Additionally, he was a member of the Forest Hills Board of Education for 3 years.

The Minster, Ohio native coached Basketball at Mt. St. Joseph, Miami University, Fresno State University and the University of Dayton before entering the High School Athletic Director world. He also includes stops in CPS (at Aiken) and at Oak Hills High School.  He has coached High School Baseball, Basketball and Track as well as AAU and many youth sports teams.

He is married to Kristine and they have 4 children and a dog.  Zach, Adam, Ben and Camryn are all proud graduates of Turpin High School!  Ozzie is just trying to make it to his next meal!

Adam began his tenure at Turpin High School in the summer of 2018, when then Athletic Director, Eric Fry, saw his work ethic, passion and love for Turpin High School.  He is a 2012 Graduate of Turpin and a 2016 Graduate of Miami University.  He earned his degree in Sport Leadership and Management.

After graduating, Boyer worked in the Miami University Athletic Department for two years as an Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager. Specifically, most of his time was spent in Millett Hall where he worked with Men's and Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country, Track & Field, and Dance.  He also assisted with Redhawk Football.

Karen joined the Athletic Staff during the 2017-2018 school year.  Previously, she worked in the Athletic Office at Milford High School.  A graduate of Turpin, ('90), she brings fond memories and a passion to work with kids each and every day.  She has 2 children in the FHSD, Garrett, (Class of '22) and Addie (Class of '26)  and is married to another former Spartan, Todd.

When not "on the clock" she enjoys running, being active and watching her Cincinnati Bengals!
