The Boys Varsity Gold team wrapped up their regular season play last week with a tough loss to Loveland on a fifth score tiebreaker. Both teams shot 155. The Spartans were led by sophomore Ben McGrew who shot a 37.
They followed that match up with a runner up finish to Anderson in King of the Hill at Coldstream Country Club. All five of the team's seniors played but were led by junior Nick Langan who shot a 37 (+1). He was supported by Zach Gardner with a 39 and Austin Williamson with a 40. Turpin came up four strokes shy of Anderson and defeated McNick by twelve strokes.
Lastly the boys played in the ECC Championship on Thursday at Glenview Golf Club. They put up a great team score of 314, led by Nick Langan with a 77, followed up by Sam Rana with a 78, Ben McGrew with a 79 and  Zach Gardner with an 80. This gave them a 3rd place finish, which solidified second place in the ECC for the season. The boys will tackle sectionals on Wednesday at Sharon Woods Golf Club.
