Elizabeth Chamberlin commits to play golf at Transylvania University

Posted on: November 12, 2019

Turpin High School’s AD, Tony Hemmelgarn, opened the Turpin Collegiate Sports Signing Day by stating “I was here when girls golf started at Turpin, and I can say this without a doubt, the finest female golfer to ever play at Turpin is Libby Chamberlin.”

After officially signing her letter of intent to play for the Pioneers, Elizabeth shared some insight about her background in the sport.  “I got my start in golf at the First Tee where I developed a love for the game. The key to playing well is practicing every day and playing a lot of competitive matches all year long. I had great instruction from Ralph Landrum at World of Golf.”

Libby continued, “I am excited to continue my education and golf at Transylvania. They are a top ranked national team and I hope to make an impact right away. I plan on studying accounting. I’ve had so much fun with my Turpin teammates this year and will really miss playing golf with them.”

On behalf of Turpin High School and Anderson Township community, congratulations to you Elizabeth!
