Young Lady Spartan Golfers Round Out First Week

After graduating five Seniors this past May, the Turpin Ladies Golf Team had some big shoes to fill … and before the first day of school incoming Freshman rose to the challenge. The ladies wrapped up a busy week of 54 holes of golf, at the Sycamore Invitational, ECC Preview and matches with GCGL teams Mercy McAuley, McNicholas and Seton.

The Varsity ladies, Senior Lexi Elza; Juniors Anna Sievers, Ella Waits and Audrey Dehan; and Freshman Norah Zellen, Eryn Domelle, and Maureen Carpenter, all contributed towards the team’s 4th place finish in the ECC Preview on Wednesday (just a few strokes out of 3rd place). The ladies then topped McNicholas in a Tri-Match on Friday.

Anna and Ella led the way at the ECC Preview, and on Friday, Anna shot a career best par, with a 35 at Little Miami.

On the Junior Varsity level, Freshmen Natalia Johansen and Georgia Painesis provided solid performances at their first High School Invitationals.

The team is gearing up for the inaugural Forest Hills Invitational on Tuesday, co-hosting the 12-team event with Anderson, at the Golf Club at Stonelick Hills.
