Girls Lacrosse Update!

Posted on: April 30, 2021

The girls lacrosse team is gaining momentum!  After starting the season off 0-4, the ladies have rallied back winning 5 of their last 9 games, with 2 of those losses being a 1 goal margin.  The charge has been led by Junior Captain Kara Spritzky who has had 23 of her 24 season goals in the stretch!  Ellen Benintend's emergence at the Draw position has been crucial for the Spartans' success!  Since she has assumed that role, Turpin is winning 58% of their draw attempts!  The other key factor to the team's success is Maho Ito, and her continued improvement as our goalie!  Her performance in the pipes has been awesome, saving 47% of the shots she has seen over those 9 games!  The ladies travel away from Spartan Stadium on Tuesday 5/4 to face ECC opponent Kings, a team the ladies haven't defeated since 2017. They will then match up against Seton, one of the top regional teams in Division 2, on 5/6 at Western Hills High School.  We will conclude the season at CCD to face UC commit Sophie O'Brien (Goalie) and a stingy defense!  Tournament draw will be on 5/9!  Keep a lookout for the postseason matchups!
