JV Maroon Falls to Mason
The Spartan Girls JV Maroon squad dropped a 2-0 decision Monday in a hot, humid contest at Comet Stadium. Turpin continued an early season trend of out shooting their opponent, 11-6, but failed to convert multiple scoring chances in the second half. Nina Birk led the offensive attack with 3 shots on goal, while Dara Berger, Lilly Peveler, Emily Reckers and Kaci Sheffer each fired 2 shots at the opposing keeper. Lily Smith saved 4 of 6 opportunities for the Spartans, while the back line defenders of Grace Aman, Sophia Schiano, and Mia Thibodeau played particularly strong.
Our Spartans have a quick turnaround this week as they match up with Seton on Wednesday at 5:00 PM in Delhi.
