Turpin used a strong second half run and tenacious defense to defeat West Clermont 47-35.  The only highlight of the 1st quarter for Turpin was a sweet out of bounds play that gave Nate Hayas a wide open lay up for 2.  The Spartans played a lack luster 1st quarter and found themselves in 16-4 hole after 1.

The Spartans opened up the 2nd quarter with a deep 3 by Brady Hardewig.  The 7-0 Turpin run continued with a nice drive by Hayas and a coast to coast drive by Tate Johnson.  The Spartans won the 2nd quarter 10-5 and trailed at the half 21-14.

Tate Johnson opened the 3rd quarter with another strong drive to the basket to cut the WC lead to 21-16.  A 4 point play by Hardewig as he was fouled making a 3 point field goal gave the Spartans their first lead 24-23.  A lead they would never relinquish. The lead would rise to 3 after a steal by Jack Selfridge and assist to Hardewig for 2.  Jaiden Alcalde finished the 3rd quarter with a steal and lay up just before the buzzer to take a 30-28 lead at the end of 3.

Two free throws by Tate Johnson followed by an assist from Johnson to Max Gunrum for 3 vs the West Clermont press gave the Spartans a 35-32 lead with 4:13 left to play.  Max Gundrum then completed a 3 point play the conventional way after a steal to increase the Spartan lead to 39-32. Tate Johnson and Will Schulok had back to back strong drives to the basket to get the lead into double digits 43-32 with 2:25 left in the game.  Johnson then finished the scoring with a behind the back strong finish for 2 as the Spartans win 47-35.

Tate Johnson led the Spartans in scoring with 10 points.  Brady Hardewig had 9 points. Max Gundrum chipped in 7 points and Nate Hayas added 6.

Daniel Hice entered the game in the 2nd half and fueled the Spartans attack with tenacious defense and a nice finish at the rim for 2.
