Late Rally Leads to Turpin Victory Over Walnut Hills

The Turpin Spartans were trailing Walnut Hills 10-2 at the end of the 5th inning before scoring 4 in the 6th and 5 in the 7th to snag an 11-10 victory. The Spartans collected 12 total hits for the game with seniors Noe, Goetz and A Hartley leading the way. Noe had 3 hits and Goetz and A Hartley provided 2 each.
E Hartley started on the rubber for Turpin and allowed 6 earned runs on 6 hits over 3 innings pitched. Goetz came in to pitch the final 4 innings, allowing no hits and no runs, while striking out 6.
It was a total team effort late in the game with the entire team contributing and refusing to give up. A Hartley, Noe, E Hartley, Compton, Goetz, and Whitley all delivered hits in the late 2 inning rally while others in the lineup got on base with walks or through errors or fielder's choice plays after solid contact at the plate.
