Forest Hills School District will be well represented at the state gymnastics meet on March 5 and 6. Turpin finished first and Anderson second and only the top two teams advanced.    This last happened in 2005 where we both qualified together.

The Spartans started strong on floor with all six scoring above an 8.9. Kassidy Nafziger and Anna Grimes had high scores for the season and added to the excitement of Maycee Herzog finishing first overall with a 9.525, Alyssa Carney second (9.5 ) to advance as an individual Abigail Dittman (9.15) and Delilah Folk (9.125) finished up this great start.

The vault also had three Spartans placing in the top 6 to advance to state as individuals. Alyssa (2), Maycee (3) and Delilah (6) adding to the team score was Anna Grimes with back up vaulters Abby and Whitney Welling.

The bars also had the team swinging to the top.   Abby (2)Maycee(3) and Alyssa(6) all advanced and were joined for a great event by Elizabeth Miller, Anna and Alice Utz.

The beam -- well sometimes you own the beam  and sometimes it owns you, as was the case this meet.   Not best beam meet,  but enough to hang on to the team lead.  Abby finished 4th to advance   and was joined by teammates Anna,Alyssa,Maycee, Elizabeth and Delilah..

Four All-Arounders led the attack with Maycee,(3rd) Alyssa 4th, Abby 5th and Anna so close.

Adding to the teams success were Sarah Gendreau, Tori Haverstraw, Natalie Mays, Nina Morra, Cassidy Folk and Ela Tuzun.

This was Turpins 4th time to be district champions  and 9th time to advance to state as a team. With 4 girls taking up 12 of the qualifying spots is a new team record .

The team travels to Hilliard Bradley High School for the state championship on March 5 ( team day ) and 6 ( individual day ).   #Spar10s  #wehadaseason
