Elder was out for revenge after several losses to Turpin in the last few years.  The game was back and forth the entire first half.  Senior Brady Hardewig started things off with a baseline jumper to give Turpin the 2-0 lead.  Hardewig hit a 3 a little later to take back the lead at 5-4.  Senior Nate Hayas did the same with a 3 of his own to give the Spartans a 8-7 lead.  Hayas and Hardewig then combined on an inbounds play as Hardewig got the lay in to tie the game at 10 and end the first quarter.

The 2nd quarter was the same as Elder and Turpin traded buckets and good play.  Senior Dylan Linton grabbed an tough offensive rebound and got the put back.  Linton followed that with an acrobatic finish in the lane to take the lead back at 14-13. Hardewig found fellow Senior Brad Schauer in the lane for a floater and the 16-13 lead.  Elder got 4 quick points before Linton make a couple of great defensive plays by taking a charge and grabbing a tough rebound leading to a Hardewig layup.  Hardewig then found Hayas with a long pass for the bucket.  Hayas took a charge of his own a short while later, but both sides went cold at the end of the half.  Going into the break Turpin was trailing 20-23.

Unfortunately, the 3rd quarter was all Elder as Turpin was outscored 15-6.  Linton got his own rebound and put it back for the bucket.  Hardewig hit a free throw and Sophomore Shea O'Toole hit a 3 to cut the Elder lead to 26-31.  Elder, however, went on a 7-0 run to end the quarter and give them a 38-26 lead.

Turpin battled in the 4th quarter, but couldn't cut into the Elder lead.  Hardewig hit a tough corner 3 and Senior Clark Helgason hit a 3 at the top of the arc to trim the deficit to 32-40.  Hardewig followed that up with another tough corner 3.  Another Elder run was ended on a drive to the bucket by Helgason.  At the end, Elder beat Turpin 52-37.
