Spartans Soccer Program Honors Seven Seniors On “Early Senior Night”

In a year of many “firsts” triggered by these unusual times, Turpin’s varsity soccer program decided to move the Senior Night festivities from its usual season-ending home game to its first home game of the season. This year’s class of seven soccer seniors have been a big part of the program’s recent success, and before Monday night’s season opening victory against McNicholas, the Spartan family had the opportunity to recognize their contributions:


Jack Cnota- Jack was escorted by Deb and Jim Cnota. Jack is a four-year varsity player and a three-time team captain. Jack was named first team ECC last year. Jack also played 2 years of basketball, and is a member of the Link Crew.  Jack plans to attend college, at a school to be determined.


TJ Crouse- TJ was escorted by Don and Amy Crouse, and sister Turpin soccer player Elizabeth Crouse. TJ has been a member of the soccer program for 4 years. He is a member of Link Crew and the Hope Squad. TJ has been named Student of the Quarter his Freshman and Junior Year. TJ hopes to attend Rose Holman to major in Computer Science and continue his soccer career.


Danny Mangan- Danny was escorted by Tina and Johnny Mangan. Danny has been a varsity soccer player for two years, and has been part of the program for four years. After graduating Danny plans to attend college, at a school to be determined.


Zander Pimenidis- Zander was escorted by Yianni and Trisha Pimenidis.  Zander is a three-year varsity soccer player and a three-year varsity track athlete.  He maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Zander plans to study engineering in college and will continue to play the saxophone.


Andrew Prewitt- Andrew was escorted by Gerri and Matt Prewitt.  Andrew is a two-year varsity soccer player for the Spartans, and has been part of the soccer program for four years.  After graduation he plans to continue his academic and soccer career at a college to be determined. 


Johannes Schwarz- Johannes was escorted by Lena and Hans Schwarz.  Johannes is a four-year soccer player and a two-year varsity player.  He is a member of National Honor Society and maintains a 4.0 GPA.  He is Vice President of Turpin’s Business Club, and a member of the German, Mandarin and Latin Clubs. He is also Concert Master of Turpin High School Symphony Orchestra.  Johannes plans to attend college to study biology and psychology, and will continue his passion for cooking! 


Jacob Towne- Jacob was escorted by Eric and Betsy Towne. Jacob has achieved a 4.2 GPA, and is a Turpin Scholar Athlete. Jacob has played soccer for 11 years. After graduating Jacob plans to attend the University of Cincinnati.
