Spartans Win Big Against the Highlanders

The Spartans continued their home game stand with a game against Oak Hills. The game started with the opening tip going to the Spartans who capitalized with a quick basket by Sophia Schiano. Baskets by Cecelia Hilgefort and Claire Klimkowski brought the Spartans score to six early on in the quarter. Brooke Painter's three-pointer increased the Spartans run to 9. By the end of the first quarter, the lead for the Spartans was 22-9. The Highlanders put up a strong offensive effort in the second quarter but the Spartans were able to gain upon their lead, bringing the half time score to 33-19. A few minutes into the third quarter, a quick look from Klimkowski found Haley Richardson down low for an easy basket. Later on in the third, Richardson hit two three-pointers to end the quarter with a score of 55-31. During the fourth quarter, a quick break led to a basket by Taylor Bliss. Kate Palmer capitalized on a Spartan steal to add two more points to the Spartans score. A foul on Kendyl Moss would bring her to the free throw line, where she would bucket a point, rounding out scoring by every single Spartan player. The outstanding team effort shown by the Spartans against the Highlanders brought them their fourth win in a row, winning by a score of 74-44. Cecelia Hilgefort led the team in scoring and rebounding. Haley Richardson (15 points) and Sophia Schiano (10 rebounds) also added in the team's big win.
