Turpin Swimming Faces Off with Ursula and Sycamore

Turpin Swim and Dive had a close meet vs. St.Ursula and Sycamore on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 in the Dungeon.  Boys reigned over Sycamore by 34 points to take the Win. Girls took 2nd just 7.5 points behind Ursula, but ahead of Sycamore by 74.  

Top point winners were: Senior Cole Kueper with 4 W’s- 2 Individual Events (50 Free and 100 Breast) and 2 relays.  Madeline Hart (200 Free, 100 Fly), Claire Studenka (50 Free, 100 Free). Starting off strong, Turpin won both Medley Relays: Girls- Alexandra Johnson, Jordy Fanning, Madeline Hart, and Claire Studenka.  Boys: Will Meyers, Cole Kueper, Tim Blankenship, and Ethan Kueper. Finishing the meet strong was the 1st place 400 Free Relay of Mitch Giegel, Ethan Kueper, Tim Blankenship, and Cole Kueper.  

Senior Diver- Ali Asbury- finished 1st among 10 total divers.  Way to NOT make a splash…..

FRESHMAN STANDOUTS!: Peter Schmelzer- winning the 500 Free by over 20 seconds.   Rio Platt- finishing a close 2nd just 0.03 sec. behind Turpin’s Cole Kueper in the 100 Breast.  Will Meyers, 2nd in the 100 Back, and Alexandra Johnson, 2nd- in the 100 Fly. Way to make an impression in your first meet as a Spartan! 

SOPHOMORE STANDOUT: Olivia Geiger raced to the finish in the 100 Breast, taking the W by just 0.05 sec. 

Additional 2nd Place finishes: Ava Sutphin (200 Free), Ethan Kueper (200 Free), Sami Lingo (200 IM), Peter Schmelzer (200 IM), Nathan Hart  (50 Free), Tim Blankenship (100 Fly), Ethan Kueper (100 Free), Morgan Slaney (500 Free), Henry Carnevale (500 Free), 200 Free Relay (Schmelzer, Aidan Comb, Hart, Carnevale).

Celebrate the start of winter break and come and support your Turpin Swimmers on Saturday, December 21st at 1:00 pm. Just follow the smell of chlorine into our Dungeon.
